Psalm 30
A Psalm and Song at the dedication of the house of David.
1 Jehovah, I will thee extol,
for thou hast lift up me;
and over me thou hast not made
my foes joyful to be.
2 O Lord my God, to thee I cry’d
and thou hast made me whole.
3 Out of the grave, O Jehovah,
thou hast brought up my soul:
thou mad’st me live, I went not down
4 to pit. Sing to the Lord,
ye his saints, and give thanks when ye
his holiness record.
5 For but a moment in his wrath;
life in his love doth stay:
weeping may lodge with us a night
but joy at break of day.
6 I said in my prosperity,
I shall be moved never.
7 Lord, by thy favour thou hast made
my mountain stand fast ever:
thou hid’st thy face, I troubl’d was.
8 I unto thee did cry,
O Lord: also my humble suit
unto the Lord made I.
